Mark Abbati’s Army Man persona

One of the key elements of Appleseed is an appreciation of the arts. Be it comics, writing, fine art, music, or performance art, we love it all. This year, in partnership with the Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District, Appleseed is proud to host a living statue workshop with professional busker Mark Abbati.

Mark’s workshop will run from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and will discuss the importance of costuming, design, character development, and performance technique.

Attendees at this year’s Appleseed will also get to see Mark in action (inaction?) on the convention floor!

One of the things that I think is important to do for any show is to look over the guest list and pre-order commissions from the creators that I want to get sketches from. So, at Appleseed, we try to facilitate that process by setting up a page with the names and contact information of creators who are currently taking commission orders. You check out a current list of these creators here: Art Pre-orders

I think it’s important to make these pre-orders because it allows fans to to better budget their time and money, allowing them to visit with even more creators. It’s also really helpful to creators because it allows them to better budget their time and allows them more time to do sketches for even more fans. It’s a huge win/win.

Heyhey kids!

If you have not yet checked, the 2013 guest list has grown quite a bit and we’re gearing up for even more names and announcements! Remember, if you’re a creator or vendor and interested in the 2013 Appleseed Comic Con, send us an e-mail at info[at]appleseedcon[dot]com.
